Love & Logic Parenting Classes

LOVE AND LOGIC
Helping parents raise more responsible children.
Ages 1 year to 5 years will be discussed.
(Love and Logic is for every age, the discussion by Kim & Shana will be for 1-5 years)

Even if you are expecting, or have an older child, we invite you to come hear what Love and Logic is all about. It will change you and your child’s life in a very positive way.

What is Love and Logic?

Love and Logic is a philosophy of raising and teaching children which allows adults to be happier, empowered, and more skilled in the interactions with children. Love allows children to grow through their mistakes. Logic allows children to live with the consequences of their choices. Love and Logic is a way of working with children that puts parents and teachers back in control, teaches children to be responsible, and prepares young people to live in the real world, with its many choices and consequences.

What will I learn:
- The importance of locking–in sadness or empathy before delivering verbal consequences
- Setting limits with enforceable statements and how kids naturally want and need boundaries from their parents.
- Sharing control through lots of small choices. Enable your child now to understand the power of their health choices.
- Building relationships with the One Sentence Intervention. Learn the secret word for your child to know they have crossed a boundary.
- Anticipate or Learn to anticipate your child’s melt down moment.
And much more!

The primary goal of the Love and Logic program is to give parents, educators, and others working with children practical strategies for reducing behavior problems, increasing motivation, and building assets which contribute to life-long responsibility and resiliency.
1. Preserve and enhance the child’s self-concept.
2. Teach children how to own and solve the problems they create.
3. Share the control and decision-making.
4. Combine consequences with high levels of empathy and warmth.
5. Build the adult-child relationship.

Easter Egg Hunts

I have listed a couple of Easter Egg Hunts that I am aware of in the calendar below - do you know of any others? How 'bout Cottonwood, Cornville, Clarkdale, Jerome? Anyone know the details on Camp Verde's? I've heard some negative things about theirs - that they don't wait until the scheduled time to start so that many people arrive and the hunt is already over! Have you had an experience with the CV egg hunt?
